Combustion and planetary war: Two kinds of proximity

The respective conditions for combustion and planetary war, and their roles in interpretation.

Conditions for two kinds of proximity

Combustion concerns a planet’s proximity to the Sun; planetary war has a different set of eligible bodies and assessment rules. Both require exact degrees, but use different conditions.

Different traditions and calculation programs may implement different conventions. Check the definition used before reading a label.

How condition informs interpretation

The program determines these conditions from degrees and distances. Interpretation then considers the areas governed by each planet to explain how its function is affected and what support remains.

Combustion affects how a planet functions. Actual results also depend on its strength, house responsibilities, environment and the influence of other planets.

Comparing determinations across programs

You can ask: What criteria does the program use? How far is this planet from the Sun or another planet? Which part of the analysis does this status change? Clarify the technical conditions before discussing meaning.

When comparing tools, raw degrees and rule versions help locate differences. They reveal whether the inputs and positions differ or the two programs use different criteria.
